NETDUMP recycle bin < PREFERENCES >

this listbox contains all of the installed skin themes (a skin theme encompasses a set of graphics and, depending on the set, sounds, to customise the netdump recycle bin). additional skin themes can be downloaded from the website. to change the current skin theme the list can be examined and a skin name selected.

//////////////////////////////////////////

listed here are the associated graphics and sounds of the individual netdump recycle bin skins. each associated item can be freely modified. thus you can use your own images and sounds to customise the recycle bin.

//////////////////////////////////////////

you can choose between two types of waste disposal. the first erases the data from the local system irrevocably and without further messages once it has been dragged onto the recycle bin and successfully transferred to netdump. the second type erases the data into the windows recycle bin, i.e. in this case netdump recycle bin operates exactly the same as the windows recycle bin locally. data dragged onto the netdump recycle bin can then be taken from the windows recycle bin and recovered. with this type of waste disposal, the dialog box below is shown before the final deletion of local data. in both cases, the data is ALWAYS transferred to netdump first..

///////////////////////////////////////

in the first field (user information) the information about the user of the netdump recycle bin (and hence the waste generator) is displayed. this information is generally changed/ set less often than that of the second field. the second field (package information) contains the information about the waste package (content, format, origin, etc.) itself. if this information is not changed for each individual waste package (see point 5) then the specific description is the same for all packages. in every case each data waste package is supplied to netdump with both pieces of information.

//////////////////////////////////////

if this option is selected, a window is shown (prior to every transfer to netdump) asking for possible changes in the package information and user information for this package as well as changes in the authorised number of copies of the package (see point 6). using this option, every file can be optimally packaged and specified for the 'rubbish tip' (=netdump).

/////////////////////////////////////////

these options specify whether a waste package can be copied or not, and the number of copies which can be made if copying is authorised. the option 'no end of copies...' allows an infinite number of copies of the package on netdump (i.e. an infinite number of users of the netdump collector can download the package and modify it at their desktop). the second option, however, can restrict the copying to a certain number of copies. This means that once the last available copy has been downloaded from netdump, the file is deleted from netdump immediately.
